I'm a computer nut who turned his hobby into a career. Born in Munich, I quickly decided that Bavaria isn't the way to go and, in a strange parallel to Isaac Asimov's bio, left at the age of 0.5 years. "My" first computer was an IBM 5110 that my dad got as a loaner from IBM and put on the kitchen table - much to the chagrin of my mother. The 5110 was the predecessor of the much more widely known 5150 a.k.a. the IBM PC. It (the 5110) had a staggering 64 kBytes of memory and an unprecedented 256 kBytes of tape storage. I was addicted to APL pretty quickly and am hooked to computers to this day, much to the annoyance of my wife.
Later on, I found the United States much more to my liking, particularly California. To find out why, please go here.
